The park manager at one of the most popular state parks in our area is stepping down after almost 20 years.
Bobby Lee Hurt faxed his resignation from Barren River State Park (effective August 1) to Frankfort Thursday.
Barren County Judge Executive, Davie Greer, says he told her it was not by his choice.
Greer says hurt was told to resign or they would fire him. Hurt was supposed to retire in October.
Greer says Hurt will get his state pension without penalty.
We've made several attempts to contact Hurt, but have so far been unsuccessful. WBKO will continue to monitor this story to see what lies in the future for Barren River State Park.
