Grayson began airing a television ad Thursday, that claims Paul favors closing the Guantanamo Bay prison and sending suspected terrorists back to their home countries. Paul has repeatedly denied that accusation.
Grayson has previously made the claim in stump speeches and debates. Paul says Grayson distorted a statement he once made, to make it sound like he is soft on terrorism.
Incumbent Senator Jim Bunning's upcoming retirement sparked competitive primary election campaigns for Republicans and Democrats. Five Republicans and five Democrats are in the race.
