Buck and Carol Kinkade put off having kids, and when it came time they felt they were too old. Inspired by a "Thursday's Child" segment two years ago, they became certified foster parents.
They traveled to Louisville last summer for a picnic with foster kids. Although they were there to meet another child, it was 16-year-old Joe that caught their eye and their heart.
Everything eventually worked out and Joe was officially adopted on June 16. He says living in Auburn is a lot different than Louisville, but he's getting used to it.
