A Senate panel has approved a bill to give Kentucky auto dealers a chance to get back into business.
The measure cleared the Senate Transportation Committee today.
The bill would apply to any attempt to set up a new dealership in the same area where a previous dealership was closed.
Any new dealership would first have to be offered to the dealer whose business closed.
If the bill passes the Senate it will return to the House for further action.
