Seven Butler County residents have been indicted in connection with the May 17 beating of Ed Beasley.
Beasley's daughter, Deanna Embry, says she pulled up to her father's house that night and found a full-out brawl in the yard, and then found her father lying in blood on the ground.
Embry says even though she wasn't there during the fight, she knows what happened. "He (Beasley) was turning to go back to the house, then Jeremy Findley beat him over the head with a club," Embry says.
Findley and 6 others face assault or complicity to commit assault charges, but one suspect who spoke to WBKO off-camera said that Beasley was hurt by a Beasley family member's ax blow that was intended from someone else.
Adding to the confusion are charges made by the victim's family that Butler County Jailer Terry Fugate arrived on the scene during the fight, but did not do enough to stop it. Fugate refused to comment, saying he would wait until the state police investigation is complete.
All seven suspects will be back in court for an arraignment in August.
