Kentucky State Police say Michael F. Slaughter, age 54 of Elkton, KY, was operating a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on KY 890 (Rabbit Ridge Road), when for an unknown reason, he lost control.

The motorcycle exited off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting Mr. Slaughter. It continued down the highway and came to rest in the southbound lane.

Mr. Slaughter, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and passed.

Trooper Jermaine Savage investigated the crash that occurred on March 19, at approximately 12:05 p.m.

The Clifty Volunteer Fire Department and Todd County EMS/Rescue assisted at the scene.

The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
