Some construction workers are getting creative in an effort to beat the heat.
Jason Hagan is the foreman of a crew bricking a home at "The Crossings" neighborhood off Cave Mill Rd.
He said when the heat got up to triple digits this week, he and his workers decided to put a Styrofoam "roof" over top of the scaffolding to block the sun.
Hagan said it made up to a 30-degree difference.
"We were on break in the garage and it was so much cooler, we decided to drape it over," Hagan explained.
Hagan and the rest of the crew have also been switching which side of the house they are working on depending on the position of the sun.
