Sand Sculptures Raise Money For Kids on the Block

There was plenty of sand in Bowling Green this weekend.

The annual "Festival of Sand" was held Aug. 10-11.

Participants built sculptures to raise money for Kids on the Block.

This is an organization dedicated to educating students about issues like divorce, child abuse and disabilities.

Winners were also announced for the "Festival of Sand".

In the advanced division, the first-place award went to Scotty's Contracting and Stone and second-place to Pan Osten.

The winner of the intermediate division was Holy Spirit with BKD coming in second.

Briarwood Elementary won the school division with Warren Elementary taking second.

Potter Gray Elementary and Bowling Green Christian Academy were named honorable mentions.

Bowling Green's choice winner was Potter Gray Elementary.
