Fourteen U.S. soldiers have been killed in a helicopter crash in Northern Iraq.
The military said the Black Hawk helicopter went down during a nighttime operation, killing the four-member crew and all ten passengers on board.
A statement in Baghdad on Aug. 22, 2007, said the initial indications are that the chopper experienced some sort of mechanical problem.
It said the cause is under investigation, but there is no sign the craft came under hostile fire.
