It's only one month old, but already the Bowling Green Police Department's motorcycle officer program is netting big results in enforcing the city's traffic laws.
"The motorcycles allow us to slip back into places that are almost impossible to see," said Officer Wade Hughes, one of the motorcycle unit's patrolmen.
Hughes says neighborhoods have welcomed the increased traffic patrols, and he says the bikes bring families and kids out to meet officers and put some faces with badges.
No hard numbers are available yet, but Hughes says when statistics are released, he's confident the number of citations will go up, and hopefully the number of speeders will go down.
