Comair Widow Talks About Crash Blame

The widow of a Comair pilot killed in last summer’s deadly Kentucky plane crash said federal investigators were shortsighted in pinning almost all the blame on the crew.

Amy Clay said she assumed the National Transportation Safety Board’s investigation would focus heavily on the pilots. However Clay said she was floored when the board listed them almost exclusively.

Clay’s husband Jeffrey Clay was one of 49 people who died. She said other people and groups have responsibility in the crash and none of them are taking it.

Clay said her husband was an outstanding pilot and problems with the aviation system contributed to last summer’s crash at Bluegrass Airport.
