Asst. Fire Chief To Deploy Overseas

A man who has dedicated his life to helping others is going back to Iraq for the third time.

We caught up with Bowling Green Assistant Fire Chief Ed Moody as he was teaching some instructors the importance of proper portable fire-extinguisher techniques.

In a previous deployment, Moody was assigned to Baghdad International Airport as assistant fire chief in a combat situation.

He is proud to serve his country and grateful for the support of his wife and daughter.

"When you look up in the dictionary military wife, there's her picture. She's absolutely the best. I also have a six-year-old daughter and she's proud of what daddy does. She always tells everybody I'm a firefighter-soldier," Moody said.

Moody is being deployed for four months with the Kentucky Air National Guard Fire and Rescue group out of Louisville.
