Drivers Ignoring School Bus Stop Signs

Since the start of this school year 75-80 people have been pulled over in Warren County alone for ignoring the stop signs. That's a number Sheriff Jerry "Peanuts" Gaines says is unacceptable.

"It's worse this year then it ever has been. When they put the school bus arm out, the drivers are running by them. Yesterday we had a complaint the arm was out and a car came around the right hand side and could've hit the child."

The school bus drivers in Warren County undergo about 50 classroom hours of training and 20 on-the-road training hours. From the time drivers activate the stop sign arms on the bus, they have approximately 150-200 feet before they actually have to stop.
