The Lexington man accused of killing University of Kentucky football player Trent Digiuro has entered guilty plea to second-degree manslaughter.
Shane Ragland was originally convicted of murder in the 1994 shooting, but that conviction was overturned by the Kentucky Supreme Court based on inadmissible evidence concerning a bullet.
Ragland's new trial was to have been held in Louisville in October.
Terms of the plea agreement filed in Fayette Circuit Court on Aug. 27 call for Ragland to be sentenced to time served.
Ragland has served eight years in prison and 14 months of house arrest.
