Candidates Speak on Health and Higher Education Issues

Kentucky's gubernatorial candidates reach out to voters on core issues.

The candidates are outlining their plans on higher education and health care.

Democrat Steve Beshear said his goal is to double the number of college graduates in Kentucky by 2020.

Beshear proposed during a media conference on Aug. 29, a scholarship program and other efforts to make that happen.

Republican Incumbent Governor Ernie Fletcher released his plan to reduce the number of Kentuckians without health insurance and to make health coverage more affordable.
