Admitted Killer Walks Free

Just three days after entering a guilty plea, the man who admitted to killing a UK football player is free.

On Aug. 30, Shane Ragland made one last trip to the Fayette County Courthouse in the criminal case against him.

Ragland had the tracking device he's been wearing for more than
14-months removed.

On Aug. 27, he plead guilty to second-degree manslaughter in the death of Trent Digiuro.

As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors recommended an eight-year sentence.

But Ragland was credited for time served.

Ragland will not be able to vote, carry a firearm, serve on a jury or run for political office.

Those are just a few of the civil rights a felon loses.
