Railway Museum Invites Residents All Aboard

It's a grand opening that's been in the works since the mid-90s.

On Sept. 1, the historic L & N Depot invited area residents all aboard for a free tour of the newly unveiled museum.

Around 600 people made their way through eleven galleries that gave a glimpse into L & N's over 80 years in Bowling Green.

"And you can see by the great number of people here today and tell readily that people have a great interest in railroads. And it's really exciting to have this kind of high quality museum here in Bowling Green," said Jody Richards, Speaker of the Kentucky House of Representatives.

The Historic Railpark Train Museum will soon be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.

The park is closed on Mondays.
