A police shooting in central Kentucky leaves a man, they say was on a rampage, dead.
State police say 48-year-old James Chamberlin of Lancaster broke into two homes while carrying a shotgun.
At the second home, he was confronted by the homeowner who he shot in the leg.
Police arrived on the scene to find Chamberlin trying to flee in the homeowner's van and backing the vehicle up to run over him.
Lancaster Police Officer Alan Weston fired a single shot at Chamberlain, killing him.
The homeowner was treated and released at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
Officer Weston is on administrative leave pending an investigation of the shooting.
