Kentucky's largest cable television provider has switched course and has decided to air a commercial critical of Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell.
The ad claims the Kentucky lawmaker inappropriately helped a Kentucky nonprofit group obtain $8-million in grants because of its ties to a lobbyist who is a former McConnell assistant.
McConnell's campaign spokesman said the ad is quote, "patently untrue," and they might again try to keep the ad off the air.
The commercial was originally scheduled to air on Sept. 6 during the U of L football game but was pulled.
A spokeswoman for Insight Communications said after lawyers reviewed the ad, they've now decided that it can air.
It is set to air on Sept. 10 during ESPN's "Monday Night Football" broadcast.
