Rescue crews searching for famed millionaire adventurer Steve Fossett stumbled upon more false leads.
On Sept. 9, they discovered more plane wreckage, but not the plane of the missing aviator.
At least eight times during the search, rescue crews have spotted airplane wreckage they thought might be Fossett's only to learn it was from crashes years, and sometimes decades ago.
This latest false alarm has further dampened spirits of the rescuers.
The search has spread across an area of 17,000 square miles.
That's twice the size of New Jersey.
