16-year-old sailor Abby Sunderland is finally home from sea.

Sunderland is lucky to be home in one piece, which is more than she can say for her boat.

Her solo sail around the world ended in near-disaster and in controversy.

The 16-year-old says she sailed 12,000 miles and came back without a single regret.

The criticism began after a giant wave snapped the mast off Sunderland's boat. After being stranded for three days, she was finally rescued by a French fishing vessel.

Sunderland's next plans are more typical for someone her age, get a driver's license, and maybe write a book.

Sunderland hasn't ruled out a second shot at sailing around the world.
