If you receive a call from a blocked number, beware.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office says there's a new phone scam that's making its rounds in Warren County.
Victims of the hoax say the callers are using a blocked number, representing themselves as U.S. government agencies.
The suspects advise the victims that they have overpaid their income taxes.
They then ask for the victims' bank account numbers, claiming they can deposit their refund in the next three hours.
The victims, up to this point, are in northern Warren County.
The sheriff's office says never give your personal or financial information out over the phone.
If you have any questions, contact the Warren County Sheriff's Office at 842-1633.
