In Jena, Louisiana, attention was switched from protests on the streets to the area's churches on Sept. 23.
Many churches are trying to focus on healing in the town, which has been the center of racial tensions.
That's because 17-year-old Mychal Bell, one of the so-called Jena Six, has been behind bars since he was arrested more than nine-months ago.
He and five other defendants are accused of beating a white student at their high school last December.
On Sept. 20, civil rights leaders led people from across the nation in a demonstration to get Bell released from jail.
