Fire Destroys Alvaton Home

The Kentucky State Police Fire Marshall is looking into the cause of a fire that happened in Alvaton Saturday afternoon. David and Joyce Rose, parents of NASCAR Driver Brian Rose, lost their home to a fire that firefighters say started in the attic.

The value of the home, located in the Rivergreen subdivision, is estimated to be around $2.5 million. Alvaton Firefighter Dave Wilkinson says the larger size homes in the subdivision along with a low water supply created problems when putting out the fire.

Forty-eight firefighters from Alvaton and surrounding departments worked late into the evening putting out the blaze. Firefighters say the home is destroyed but no one was injured.
