WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (AP) -- An eastern Kentucky jail inmate says a dispute over a bra led to a stabbing.
Police have charged 30-year-old Virginia Fry with attempted murder in the stabbing Tuesday night of Erica Petrey Canada in Whitley County.
In a jailhouse interview she said she was only protecting herself. Fry says she had loaned the other woman a bra and called her to see about getting the undergarment back.
She says the women exchanged some heated words, then agreed to meet near their homes to settle their differences.
Police told the station that both women had weapons. They say the case will be presented to a grand jury to determine whether any other charges will be filed.
Canada was taken to a hospital, where she remains in serious condition.
