Accidental Shooting in Ohio County

 Wilson stated he heard a noise in the chicken coop and thought it was a coyote attacking his poultry. 

OHIO COUNTY, Ky (WBKO) -- Ohio County Emergency Services received a call regarding an accidental shooting at the Wilson residence on Keown Road in the Fordsville community.

KSP Trooper Jeremy Baker was notified at 3:00 am to respond to the complaint.

Upon arrival, Trooper Baker found Arthur Wayne Wilson with a single gunshot wound to the left forearm.

Wilson stated he heard a noise in the chicken coop and thought it was a coyote attacking his poultry.

In an effort to protect the chickens, Wilson rushed outside and accidentally discharged his pistol into his left forearm.

Wilson was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville with a non life threatening injury.

No one else was injured and the investigation is continuing.
