Police say a six-month-old baby suffered intentional spiral fractures to its right thigh.

BOWLING GREEN, KY (WBKO ) -- A Bowling Green man pleads not guilty to breaking a baby's leg. Belton Rhodes,56, is charged with criminal abuse first degree.

Police say a six-month-old baby left in his care, suffered intentional spiral fractures to its right thigh. The abuse allegedly occurred May 23.

The child's mother had left the baby with Roberta Rhodes, but police say Roberta left to run errands, leaving the baby with Belton. Belton told police he was tired and frustrated, and might have been too rough when he changed the baby's diaper. He has a preliminary hearing at 9:00 a.m. Friday.

Police say the baby was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital.
