Allergies Could Be Worse This Year

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Spring is officially here, and that means allergens are in the air.

Allergy symptoms this year could be worse than normal for many in the area.

Bowling Green is just a couple hours from Louisville, which the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has listed as the number one worst place for allergies this year.

People in the area who struggle with allergies are already feeling all the symptoms.

"It's been worse this year and it's even more bad today, because now sometimes when I sneeze, it clogs my ear up and I have to blow my nose like that and hold it together for it to come out cause it hurts. It is painful," said 8-year-old Joseph Gregory.

The Foundation says they choose an "allergy capital" based on pollen counts, the use of allergy medications and the number of allergy specialists available. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
