ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) -- A central Kentucky theater will host a tribute next month to the late actor Andy Griffith.
Historic State Theater Executive Director Emily West grew up watching reruns of "The Andy Griffith Show" every day. She decided to focus on his work during an event next month at the Elizabethtown theater.
The News-Enterprise (http://bit.ly/MWZ72B ) reports it all starts Aug. 14 with a 7 p.m. EDT showing of the 1958 film "No Time for Sergeants." On Aug. 16, the theater will show five classic episodes of "The Andy Griffith Show," while the Aug. 17 program features a 7 p.m. showing of the made-for-TV film "Return to Mayberry."
Karen Knotts, daughter of Griffith sidekick Don Knotts, performs in a comedy/tribute show at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18.
