WARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) -- The weather this weekend also allowed locals to make a big splash at the Russell Sims Aquatic Center.
Those who work there say it's the first 4th of July in a while they've been able to open, because weather usually hasn't cooperated.
So they were happy to have water flowing this weekend for the crowds.
They say not a single pool chair was available as people soaked up the sun.
"It was an awesome 4th of July. We were busy. Our staff even got to cook out this year, so it was awesome," said Whitney Brown, who works at the center.
If you weren't part of the crowd this holiday weekend, the aquatic center will stay open all summer until labor day.
