This is the 10Th year the city has received a growth award, which signifies improvement in the urban forestry program.

Arborist, Jared Weaver says the event is just one way to educate the community about taking care of the environment.

"Today is the city's annual Arbor Day celebration it's our celebration of trees and all the benefits they provide such as, storm water irrigation and pollution irrigation, and of course the beauty of tree," says Weaver.

Those who attended did not walk away empty handed, free trees were given out at the end of the ceremony.
