Attorney Dick Downey Sworn In as Family Court Judge

“It means a lot to me. I hope to be able to help the community out. Judge Huddleston got sick last October and wasn't able to come back to court. We've had other judges filling in locally and other judges from out of town. I hope to come in here and give some stability to the court and give those judges that have been helping out, a break," said Dick Downey, Family Court Judge for the 8th Judicial Court Division III

BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) -- Bowling Green attorney, Dick Downey, was sworn in as Family Court Judge for the 8th Judicial Court Division III this morning.

Downey was appointed, by Governor Steve Beshear, earlier this month.

Judge Downey served as an attorney with Kentucky Legal Aid from 2006-2012 and was also in a private practice.

This vacancy was created by the passing of Warren County Family Court Judge, Margaret Huddleston, this past January.

Judge Downey will hold this position until the end of the year.
