AUBURN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Students at a Logan County elementary school got to know a figure of modern day history up close and personal Tuesday morning. Auburn Elementary, along with schools around the world, took part in an interactive teleconference with former First Lady Barbara Bush. The entire experience was made possible by state-of-the-art video conference equipment; something that's allowing more and more unique experiences in the classroom.
"The time factor. There's so much that we have to teach in a given year. To be able to take that trip instantaneously and to be able to come back instantaneously is extremely beneficial," said Principal David Ward.
Earlier this school year, students were also able to speak with a national park worker in Alaska while seeing the wildlife of the area live.
