The planes were all part of Aviation Day at the Bowling Green - Warren County Regional Airport. The event attracted hundreds of flight enthusiasts including a few children who were new to the art of aviation. The Young Eagles Club allowed children from 8 to 17 to hitch a ride on a plane. One of the organizer's of the event, Dorian Walker hopes the young people's first ride in a plane is as memorable as his was.
"When I was a youngster I sat in the lap of my father in a little "Luscombe". It was a little noisy as a kid but suddenly we took off. We were bouncing down a grass strip and suddnly we left that strip. It just smoothed out. It was like nothing I have ever experienced. It stayed with me that to the point of when I became an adult I said, 'I've got to do this.'"
Many planes could be seen on display with their owners nearby waiting to inform people of the mechanics and history of the vehicle.
