This Saturday, Aviation Heritage Park will have an open house for the public.
Park officials say it's a great opportunity to give back to the public.
They'll have all of the cockpits open, and pilots will give guided tours of the planes and inside the cockpits, something officials say is a rare opportunity.
"We go to great lengths to restore the cockpits, and folks that normally come out here and visit the planes don't get to see that because they're down on the ground and they're not allowed to climb up on the airplanes. This Saturday, we're going to have the cockpits all open, and we're going to have platforms so folks can climb up there and look in the cockpit and see what they look like," said Aviation Heritage Park President Arnie Franklin.
You'll even get a chance to get your picture inside the "Shooting Star."
The event will be from 10a.m. to 4p.m. at Aviation Heritage Park on Three Springs Rd. near Basil Griffin Park in Bowling Green.
