BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- BGMU has received phone calls from customers regarding a phone scam.
Claiming to be utility representatives, scammers are telling customers their bills are overdue and need to be paid immediately to avoid disconnection. They are typically requesting payment via money orders and wire transfers.
BGMU bills, late notices, and disconnection information are relayed to customers via the U.S. postal service. If you are contacted by phone and question the validity of the person with whom you are speaking, please call BGMU's office at 270-782-1200 after the conversation. Also remember that BGMU does not accept wire transfers.
