The Barren River Area Development District, AARP, community and church groups are asking for your help to feed seniors in need.
They're holding a food drive through Friday for basic non-perishable items. They're also asking for more organizations to volunteer to be drop-off sites for the food.
BRADD officials say it's a need that few are aware of.
"We feel that it is very important that people know, and that people are aware that there are seniors who need food and don't have the money to buy it," said BRADD Associate Director of Aging Services Michelle Hines.
You can drop off non-perishable food items at the BRADD office at 177 Graham Ave.
Donations will be accepted from 10a.m. to 2p.m. They are asking for items like peanut butter, rice, crackers, pasta, boxed cereals, canned fruit, canned tuna, canned soups, and canned meats. They ask for no glass containers.
