The Barren River Area Development district has updated several key health issues in the area.
Leaders in healthcare from the Barren River Area released the 2013 to 2015 Community Health Plan Tuesday.
The new health plan has been in the making for more than a year.
The BRADD Community Health Plan focuses on community, schools, worksite and healthcare.
This includes, making better food choices and building a better environment in the community, making schools healthier places to learn, making employee wellness programs happen, and creating an effective healthcare system.
"The real work is just now beginning and that's the implementation phase and so from a community perspective if you have not been involved in this process, you can be involved in this process. Each of us on a daily basis has the capacity to make good health choices," said Dennis Chaney with the Barren River District Health Department.
