BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - WBKO is receiving reports of a robbery that took place at a bank on Morgantown Road in Bowling Green.
It happened just after noon at the Morgantown Bank and Trust. Warren County Sheriff's and Kentucky State Police are on the scene.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office says the suspect is described as a white male with a grey bushy beard. He was wearing a Australian-safari style hat, faded blue jeans, a red or maroon shirt, and blue tennis shoes. He was also wearing a home-made style white sling on his right arm.
He left the scene in an older (possibly late 1990's model) tan Chevrolet Silverado truck with a blue Mitt Romney sticker on the back window. He was last seen heading north on Highway 231.
If you have any information, contact the Warren County Sheriff's Office at 270-842-1633 or Crime Stoppers at 270-781-CLUE.
Mike Martin, a witness who was in the bank at the time of the robbery, described the events.
"Just walked in like any other customer. This guy started walking out the front door like a normal customer. He wasn't excited or anything. I walked up to the clerk's counter and she was starting to get a little emotional, I asked what was going on and she said "I've been robbed." They immediately locked all the doors and he was parked out front here, parked around back and he cut out on (U.S. Highway) 231 and headed out."
"A policeman said most of them happen around noon and that's about the time this one was hit."
