A local science museum is trying to raise money for a new home.
The Barren River Imaginative Science museum held a fundraiser at the skate box Saturday.
After reopening at a new location in February in Bowling Green, BRIMS is on hiatus for a few weeks as it either searches for a new home or makes renovations to it's previous building on Center Street.
Brims relies heavily on donations and volunteers, and had previously closed its doors last year because of the economy, but later reopened.
"We're kinda of in the middle of trying to find a new home, whether that be going to our old place and getting it fixed up or whether it be finding a new place and putting a down payment on it, we're hoping that with the fundraising techniques that we'll be able to raise enough money to get a new home," says Stephanie Hill from BRIMS.
Saturday's fundraiser raised more than 100 dollars for BRIMS, but the center needs to raise at least five thousand dollars for a new home.
The skate box will hold another fundraiser for BRIMS on July 9th, from 6 to 9 p.m.
