A center where kids can use their imagination is coming back to Bowling Green.
"We're very excited, this is a great place for it to be and it's going to be a lot of fun and the kids are going to enjoy it," says Ashley McPherson, the Vice President of the local MOMS club.
The Barren River Imaginative Science Museum is getting ready to reopen its doors, but this time, it's new home is at the Greenwood Mall on Scottsville Road.
"The people in Bowling Green and the surrounding region deserve a good science museum, a good hands on museum, that they can visit," says April McCauley, BRIMS' Executive Director.
Museum directors are already allowing children at least three years of age to test out some of the educational toys that focus on science, math, and engineering.
"She had fun playing with the trains and the spinning things, and also playing with the balls in the air," says McPherson, referring to her daughter.
They're also already offering workshops to science teachers.
Last year, the not-for-profit museum that relies heavily on volunteers had to close its doors because of the economy, but directors are not looking back.
"As we go forward, what we would like to do is draw in a much wider range of visitors and to build a partnership with our community so that we can offer more and more interesting things," says McCauley.
The Bowling Green Area Convention Visitors Bureau is happy BRIMS is soaring once again.
"BRIMS offers unmatched, hands on learning experiences, a place for kids to come, hang out for a few hours, and get into all kinds of interesting things, we are creating the next generation of progressive, forward thinkers here in bowling green and our area," says Marissa Butler, the BGACVB Public Relations Director.
Directors believe the museum will allow children to learn in a fun atmosphere.
The museum officially reopens on the 16th of February.
