Balloons Tunes & BBQ is under way at the Bowling Green Warren County Regional Airport.
So far, the event has managed to escape the rain. Tomorrow will be a big night for the event with concerts, tethered balloon rides, carnival rides, and food.
Admission is free, but the proceeds from those vendors and ride tickets go directly to the United Way of Southern Kentucky, and its partner organizations.
The weather plays a big role in the event's success, and the proceeds United Way receives.
"If we have good weather, we'll raise $20,000 plus for the United Way. Last year it rained, and we raised 12,000," said US Regional President Craig Browning.
Browning said that they have raised up $27,000 during good weather.
This year, they can raise at least $25,000 and hope that scattered chance of rain manages to hold off for the weekend.
