Another great chance to catch some fireworks will be held at Barren River Lake State Resort Park Thursday. The state stopped funding the show in 2009, but the Friends Of Barren River Lake picked up the slack by raising money for the event. The group said the budget has forced some smaller shows years past, but this year they're expecting a big turnout.
"As a kid you remember fireworks. It's awe! Talk about the word awesome. We're expecting a really good show this year. We've raised enough money we feel it's going to be real strong and very organized show." said Ann Stewart of Friends of Barren River Lake.
Events are scheduled to take place all day at the state park. The fireworks are slated to be set off around 9 O'clock.
