Hundreds of seniors received Christmas presents thanks to the Be a Santa to a Senior Program.

The program is part of the Foster Grandparent program at Community Action of Southern Kentucky.

Today the seniors were served a Christmas dinner, and gifts were passed out by Santa.

Organizers say they look forward to the moment each present is delivered.

"It's very wonderful, and it's just a blessing to us and our staff to be able to see the smiles on their faces and everything when they get their gifts," said Community Action of Southern Kentucky Public Information Coordinator Charity Parrish.

Parrish says more than a thousand gifts were donated by General Motors, Home Instead Senior Care, Fruit of the Loom, and many individuals in the community who did everything from selecting their seniors to shopping and wrapping gifts.
