As the summer season continues to slowly come to an end the racing season is heating up in Bowling Green.
Beech Bend Raceway held their weekly drag racing competition Sunday.
Officials have been pleased with this summers attendance and racing despite some issues with weather.
Races cannot be held in wet conditions.
This summer they have canceled some races even from a forecast that calls for rain.
"With the high price of traveling today with diesel fuel, gasoline, that type of thing the weather also plays a factor even if it's a gloomy forecast it can really hurt your crowd," says Clay Jones, assistant track manager.
The dragway says they stay open for the racing season through November.
