Better Business Bureau Warns Against Boston Marathon Scams

Following the Boston Marathon explosions, the Better Business Bureau wants to warn you of charity scams.

They say at least one scam on Twitter has already emerged and more are likely.

Tips they recommend include, take the time to check out the charity.

Be proactive and find trusted charities that are providing assistance.

Check if the agency is registered with the state, and watch out for vague appeals that don't identify the intended use of funds.

"Try to find out what they're going to do with the money, because so many times they'll say we want to help those people. Well, how do you want to help them? Are you going to contribute to the ones who lost a limb, are you going to help pay for different things for them? You want to find out exactly where they're going to use that money," said Linda Chambers of the Better Business Bureau.
