Black Friday Shoppers

While many shoppers arrived at stores early for midnight specials, others decided to wait and get in on the action later today. Some shoppers plan their days out to the smallest details, but one of the youngest of shoppers had a simpler strategy.

"I've been eating breakfast... and doing alot of shopping around," said shopper Connor Proctor

Proctor had plenty of people on his shopping list.

"My sister, and my dad, and my mom, and alot of other friends," said Proctor.

Slightly older shoppers still got an early start to their day.

"We have been Black Friday shopping since 7:30 this morning. We've hit Target... Lowe's... the mall. We're now at Barnes, and about to go to Hobby Lobby. We are hitting everywhere," said shopper Telia Butler.

Butler said the stores were busy but not as packed as usual, and she thinks there's a reason.

"Crowds have been really slim compared to usual Black Fridays since all the stores opened yesterday... last night and we didn't have nearly as much gridlock as we expected," said Butler.

Shopping can make a person hungry. Chick-fil-a on Campbell Ln. has opened early for the second year in a row, and after receiving large crowds last year, they had their drive through process down to a science this time.

"This year we had it set up where we had cones to lead the cars, so they couldn't cut each other off or go the wrong way or do anything crazy," said Chick-fil-a Manager Michael Serge.

Crazy is just one way to describe Black Friday, but shoppers here in Bowling Green seem to have it under control.

If the hustle and bustle of large department stores just isn't your thing or you're looking for more sales tomorrow, don't forget about American Express' Small Business Saturday. Many small local shops in the area will be participating.
