Bowling Green Man Arrested after Police Chase

WARREN COUNTY, Ky (WBKO) -- Police say a Bowling Green man stole a car and hid from police.

Just before 9:00 Friday morning, Joseph Compton, 30, allegedly stole a car in Edmonson County.

A short time later, the Warren County Sheriff's Office saw him driving on Plum Spring Road.

Police say he hit the deputy's car, and drove off.

Compton later dumped the car and fled.

Police searched for him all morning, and police say he tried to get into several homes in the area.

K9s, the Bowling Green Police Department, and Kentucky State Police helped in the search.

Compton was found just after 1:00 PM.

He is in jail on several outstanding warrants, plus theft, criminal mischief, and fleeing charges.
