Bowling Green Celebrates Bicentennial

Updated: Wed 1:26 PM, Sep 19, 2012

The city of Bowling Green is officially 200 years old.

The Bowling Green City Commission recognized this week as bicentennial week.

Mayor Bruce Wilkerson read in a proclamation facts and accomplishments about the city.

Commissioner Joe Denning has been here his entire life and said the city has seen changes and growth.

"it would be an understatement to say that Bowling Green hasn't grown over the 200-year period, and we can see in the last 100 years what we've done here in the city of Bowling Green," said Denning.
