The annual Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce awards took place Tuesday night at the Sloan Convention here in Bowling Green.
Our own Gene Birk kicked things off and served as the master of ceremonies.
Some of the awards handed out tonight were to Commonwealth Health Corporation and WKU, who jointly received the Advancing South Central Kentucky Award.
The family of the late John Desmarais received the Herb Smith Lifetime Achievement Award.
Also tonight a new chairman was named, and he's excited about 2013.
"I've been very blessed to have this position. We have a lot of announcements that we're about to make probably in the next 30-45 days, some new opportunities that are coming to bowling green and within our region," said Brad Howard, Incoming Chamber Chairman.
This was all presented tonight while promoting the themes from Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.
